Asimina trilobay

The Pawpaw is an understory tree that bears the largest edible fruit indigenous to the United States. The berry is 2-6 inches long and 1-3 inches wide, with an irregular ovoid shape. Has a creamy bananalike texture and pale-yellow color. Can be eaten raw or used in baked desserts. Does not ship well. Deer tend to leave the pawpaw tree alone, unlike most other woody plants.
