Mexican Orange Blossom, Aztec Pearl
Choisya ternata dumosa arizonica “Aztec Pearl”

“Aztec Pearl” is a naturally occurring hybrid of two hardy species members. The small shrub grows to 3 to 4 feet tall and as wide and can be placed in full sun or high shade. It does very well in dry situations and can thrive in clay soils. The foliage is unusual fine-leaf foliage that emits a heady scent when crushed which makes the plant very resistant to wildlife browsing. New spring blooms are pink and open to white coloration, providing a fragrant scent for the landscape. Bees, butterflies and night moths are particularly fond of the blooms. This plant is hardy to 10 degrees F. and is listed as viable for USDA zones 7 through 10.
