This cactus is also commonly called Polka Dot Cactus because of the white spots that appear on the cactus pads. The flesh is gray-green in color and is covered in white dots which make it an attractive addition to the Arid Garden. This plant is hardy in USDA zones 8b-10 and cold-hardy to 20 degrees F. It requires excellent drainage and full sun. At maturity, it can reach 3 feet tall and cover a 6-foot-wide area. It needs little to no water. Blooming begins at an early age for the plant and can be either a bright yellow or a pure white.
