Goji Berry
Lycium barbarum

Woody shrub 6 to 8 feet tall with bright red oval-shaped berries. As a member of the Wolfberry family it is prone to long, limber stems, and will appreciate pruning to encourage thicker growth. Goji berries have captured attention as a “superfood” high in nutrients and antioxidants. Usually sold and eaten in dried form, either as a snack or sprinkled on cereal, salads, etc. Grow in well-drained soil with plenty of water and sunlight, though it will fare better if protected from afternoon summer sun. Flowers in Summer and fruits in Fall. Bears fruit in three years.
